Virtual Coaching & Fitness | Trinity Gym

 

Kelle was my personal trainer for over 2 1/2 years. I was a soccer player for over 20 years and loved to workout, I mostly used weight  and cardio machines. I started trail running in my 30’s and worked up to running ultramarathons. A torn meniscus led to two arthroscopic surgeries and lingering pain in my right knee. 

When I started training with Kelle I thought I knew how to strength train but soon learned I had a long way to go! She taught me how to make my lower body stronger to protect my knees, to strengthen more than just my quads. I started seeing results quickly, not only in muscle definition but in how much I was able to lift. I learned so much about stability and the importance of working my core. 

Because of my time working with Kelle I now have the confidence to use the tools she taught me to lift in the weight room even if I’m the only female present. I have definition in my arms I didn’t know I could achieve. I also now know the importance of cross training and feel stronger and more fit than I did in my 20’s!

I would not be walking today if it were not for Kelle. In 2015 I rejoined the gym after a debilitating fall that broke my knee and left me unable to walk without a cane. From my first workout with personal trainer and certified rehabilitation specialist, Kelle Santin, I knew I had found a way back to wholeness. Before I started working with Kelle, even though I had worked with another personal trainer and had gained some confidence in my workouts, I knew I  needed more. Kelle and I collaborated well, when I told her I wanted to run a marathon, she put together a program to keep me strong and injury free. When I told her I wanted to run an ultra marathon, she told me "that's why they make cars, Susan", and then she put together a program to keep me strong, work on my endurance, and keep me injury free. She even helped me with race time nutrition and nursed my sore feet afterwards!  I know that without her guidance and help I would have never thought to even try an ultra marathon, let alone complete it. I didn't consider myself and elite athlete, but Kelle's faith in me and the program she put together were the keys to my success! Thanks Kelle!

Before I started working with Kelle, even though I was 69 years old I felt like I was 80. I felt drained of energy, I was totally unfit, unable to keep up with my active friends and I just didn’t want to feel this way anymore. Without Kelle, I don’t think I would have tried any of the things I now do with confidence. Kelle is my motivator to continue improving my personal goals of outstanding health. Now don’t get me wrong, poor Kelle has her hands full with me. It seems that we have to go over and over again which leg is my left and which is my right. Kelle’s unrelenting enthusiasm for my personal growth continues to excite me and makes me want to come back to workout with her 3 days a week. Kelle continues to provide me with new and innovative exercises to increase my strength and stability so that I never tire of the same routine. I can honestly say, had it not been for Kelle, I know this body wouldn’t be moving today! When I started at age 69, I had never been able to get up off the floor without using my hands to brace myself. At age 73, I have no problem at all getting off the floor unassisted. I have been training with Kelle for almost 3 years, and originally came to her to improve balance. I was able to do so but unfortunately ended up having issues due to arthritis in my hip.  Kelle has been a wonderful resource and is working through my hip issues, AND my husband saw my results and is now a client too! We train together online now and Kelle adjusts for both of us to keep it fun and results driven. 

  

When I found out about Kelle’s Transformation Program, I had watched my weight go up about a pound or so a year for the last several years. It seemed like my weight was increasing just as my age was! I had the same struggles as most menopausal women, stubborn weight especially around my middle; front and back. 

I constantly watched my weight I would lose a pound or two and gain it back over and over again, and this had been going on for years. At 62 I felt like if I didn’t do something soon, I was going to continue this upward climb on the scale. I think the most frustrating thing about it was that there were people that I followed that had lost 20, 30, or 40 pounds and I could not seem to lose these 7 or 8 pounds. I felt helpless to get control of it. I had always been athletic, but my middle just continued to grow. The funny thing is that those 7 or 8 pounds bothered me as much as those other women’s 30 or 40 pounds. And when you are barely 5’2” there is not a lot of space to hide that extra weight. 

I decided to commit the 12 weeks to this program, mainly because I knew that Kelle was someone that would push me, encourage me, and firmly hold me accountable. Her focus was on nutrition and exercise. I had not really done that much weight training, but the more I did the more I loved it. We are coming to the end of our 12 weeks, and I have lost those stubborn 8 pounds, but more importantly I have learned how to make the lifestyle changes that I will need to hold onto for the rest of my life. 12 weeks ago, I had almost given up on getting my weight under control and now I have the confidence to know that I can do this, and I can maintain this. I understand how to manage my macros so that I can have a cookie or a treat and still stay on track. 

Having Kelle to help me learn the macro system and to simplify it with the use of the app so that it takes a few seconds each time I eat to log my food was key to my success. I always thought that would be a real pain and couldn’t imagine myself ever doing it. But I can honestly say after 12 weeks it is something I will continue to do. 

The workouts are so varied that I have never gotten bored with them, Kelle puts together workout that work for me - 62-year-old me, with a bothersome knee and an achy neck! I think it is also important to note that I did this all remotely. I loved our one-on-one workout sessions, and the group sessions. 

I plan to continue training with Kelle remotely and in person and I know not only do I have further I can go, but I also now have the confidence to know that I can get there, and if I slip up, I have a tried and true plan to get back on track quickly. 

I would encourage anyone that wants to take a step towards better health and a stronger body to partner with Kelle.
